A HELPING HAND FOR
QUAKE VICTIMS IN CHINA
SHANGHAI, P.R. CHINA – (May 16, 2008) -- D.D Williamson’s Chinese subsidiary is making a donation to assist disaster relief and humanitarian efforts in central regions hit by China’s worst earthquake in more than 30 years. Chinese officials expect the death toll to approach 50,000, and thousands are without shelter. China Red Cross, recipient of D.D. Williamson’s contribution, is providing essential supplies and emergency-related services to quake victims.
“Since 1996, D.D. Williamson has operated a caramel color manufacturing site in China. The quake is such a tragedy, and as a corporate citizen our associates felt the need to do something to help those who are suffering,” said Ted Nixon, CEO. The American Chamber of Commerce Shanghai has created a link on its website to facilitate donations. On the web, one can visit http://www.amcham-shanghai.org and click on the China Donation photograph to make a financial contribution.
